The second family reunion we attended this year was with my extended family. It was so much fun to be with everyone and enjoy that time. This year we went camping! I'm sad to say that it was the only camping trip we made this year. We had planned to go at least a couple more times and it just never happened. So we were especially glad that this family reunion was a camping one!
| Very first ever camping trip! She loved it! |
I did get several pics but I still didn't take as many as I would have liked because it was rainy the whole time we were there! It's a little bit difficult to keep a DSLR dry so I didn't pull it out a lot. We got rained on every day we were there. We were kind of grateful that we were in a slightly more-rocky-than-dirt-y place so it wasn't too muddy even though it was raining a ton.
| Everyone looks like they are having such fun, don't they? :) |
| Isn't my nephew so adorable?? I just love him! |
| Hey! I got Dan to smile for the camera! :) |
| This is my cousin's adorable baby. He's exactly one month older than my nephew. |
| Livie loved the baby! |
| Twice! |
| These are the two babies - aren't they so cute? And how adorable that they were both wearing brown! |
| Livie likes dragging people around wherever she feels like going. |
| Dan went on a long four-wheeler ride with a bunch of my uncles and guy cousins. Little would you know it by how sunny this photo is, but while they were out, they got dumped on! They all came back soaking wet - which was rather unfortunate for those people who were only there for that day and hadn't brought changes of clothes! |
| Poor little guy just zonked out and was so hot! |
| Dominating the party. |
| See how all the chairs are kind of huddled together and there isn't much room anywhere? That's because everyone was trying to stay under one of the two canopies to keep dry because it had just been raining {for like the third time that day}! |
| Livie thought these little chairs were awesome. She basically claimed both of them as "Livie's" and would get extremely unhappy whenever another of the little kids tried to sit in one. Even though they belonged to them. She's a little possessive. |
A couple of things we learned on this trip were:
1. Camping with a toddler takes a lot more planning but she
loves it! {I think she especially loved getting so dirty!}
2. A camper trailer can come in really handy when it rains
3. iPads are basically amazing inventions for keeping restless toddlers/young children happy while they have to wait inside said camper trailer for the rain to stop pouring
4. Porta-pottys are kind of great. Especially when you're pregnant and there is no other commode besides a tree.
5. You should probably always take some kind of rain jacket on a four-wheeler ride, especially if there is rain in the forecast and it had been raining the day previous.
6. Camping is always the ultimate in work and lounging.
7. S'mores are always amazing.
8. Family is so great!
Okay, so maybe those last two were things I knew before this vacation. But they were just affirmed to me yet again. :)
We had such a great time and love hanging out with my family!
